| Singing Bowl, Decorated, with a 8 inch opening. Highly decorated spun bronze. Includes wooden beater. They sometimes feature religious iconography; motifs and symbols, such as the Tibetan mantra Om mani padme hum, images of Buddhas, or the Ashtamangala (Eight Auspicious Signs). The bowls are made of Panchaloga: literally translated from Sanskrit as Five Metals. The metal alloys contain copper, tin, zinc, iron and other metals Singing bowls are played by the friction of rubbing a wooden mallet around the rim of the bowl to produce overtones and a continuous 'singing' sound. They are commonly used for meditation, relaxation, healthcare, personal well-being and religious practice. |
